Functional 3D Prints

3D printed handle scales for folding pocket knife. Printed in natural PETG plastic without added pigment. Print speeds, layer height, and extrusion temperature were optimized to increase transparency so that the internal components could be seen. Printed facedown on a textured build plate to add grip to the outer surfaces.

3D printed cases for sets of STABILO Pen 68 felt-tip markers and Sakura Pigma Micron pens. Markers and pens are packed densely to minimize case size. Printed using coarse 0.3mm layer height to create secure friction fit lids.

3D printed minimalist chess set with custom pieces. Height and number of divisions are used to differentiate piece types. The board and pieces have embedded neodymium magnets. White PLA filament containing black PETG specs was used to create the appearance of marble.

3D printed toggle switch fidget toy with missile style switch covers. Colored LEDs are activated by the corresponding toggle switches. Switches turn off automatically when covers are closed. Powered by 2 AA batteries.

3D printed dental floss pick case. Perfectly fits 2 floss picks and has a form factor only millimeters larger than the picks themselves. The sliding lid is held shut by a small tab when closed and opens easily when the textured area is pressed down.
